Well, it's official. I'm pregnant! The nausea and exhaustion have made it pretty difficult to keep the good news hidden from the people I see in-person. However, with the state of the world being what it is, that list is actually pretty short. Now that we're ready to share with the world at large, here's how it all went down:
6/28 - After 6 days with zero symptoms, I cave and take a home pregnancy test. The line is faint, but it's there. We get our BFP!
6/30 - First Beta hCG test comes back at 143.
7/1 -Second Beta hCG test comes back at 432! How's that for doubling?
7/22 -Sami joins me via videochat at the first prenatal scan, and we hear our embryo's "heartbeat" for the first time. Things are beginning to feel slightly more real.
8/5 - At the second prenatal scan, our little embryo is starting to look like a person! Or maybe a turtle... Something with distinct limbs, anyway. I'm released from our RE's care to our midwife team.
8/15 - We receive the results from my NIPT draw. Our now-fetus is genetically healthy - and at almost 11 weeks, I feel comfortable sharing the news.
OMG! CONGRATULATIONS! 😲
Take your pre-natal vitamins and get lots of rest. You're making a baby. WOW.
