10 (Non-TTC) Facts About Me

Hi there! I’ve written before that TTC (especially for a researcher and planner like me) can turn into an all-consuming task. I am so excited to be a Mom, and will continue to do whatever it takes to get there. My heart may never be at peace until I'm a parent, but I don't want to forgot that I am already a complete person. So in no particular order, and without giving away the answers to any security questions, here are ten fast facts about my life outside of TTC efforts:
My spouse and I celebrate 4 different anniversaries, because we’re obnoxious. We’re also usually so busy that having a built in excuse to celebrate each other throughout the year is a big plus.
We have 2 cats, plus a dog who’s pretty sure he’s also a cat.
My greatest passions are theater and higher education, and I’m incredibly lucky that my career allows me to do both. I landed my dream job a couple years back, and it’s made me one of those awful people who love going in to work every day.
I don’t tend to put any amount of stock into star signs. However, I am a Libra, and a great number of people who have played a significant role in my life have been Libras as well. Current partner, former partners, my Mama, best friends, etc. - enough of a coincidence that it feels like a fun fact.
I’ve always been a writer. For many years, the only writing I did was journaling (and writing emails - or essays when I was still in school). However, writing has always been a creative outlet for me. As a child, I actually won a poetry competition for the state we lived in at the time!
In the first 3 years of our relationship my spouse and I moved 4 times, finally culminating in the purchase of our first home. May we not move again - at least for a very long time!
I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease about 15 years ago. It’s made me a pro at speed-reading food labels, and a pretty convincing home baker.
I have 2 cups of coffee a day, minimum, period.
I got my first tattoo the week of my 18th birthday, and over the years I’ve acquired 6 total - some large, some very small. I also got my first non-earlobe piercing as soon as I could on my 16th birthday (after begging my parents for a nose piercing for the past 6 years straight). The most piercings I’ve had at one time was 20, but now I’m down to a perfectly tame 14.
I am low-key (okay, high-key) obsessed with spreadsheets. I have a Google Sheet for any and every project in my life.
Hope you learned something new about me! This was a fun way to take my mind off of the doom and gloom for a bit. If you want to participate, drop your 10 facts in the comments!
